How Prophet Muhammad (sallaa Allah alayhi wa Sallam) received revelation

Aisha Narrated that Al-Haarith bin Hishaam asked Allah’s Messenger:
O messenger of Allah! How is the divine revelation revealed to you?

Allah’s messenger said: “Sometimes it is revealed to me like the ringing of a bell, this is the hardest for me and then it passes off after i have grasped what has been said. Sometimes the angel comes to me in the form of a man and talks to me and i understand what he says.”

Aisha said: “Verily i saw him whilst being divinely inspired on a very cold day and when it was over sweat was dropping from his forehead”
